We should appreciate little moments of happiness

- SANIYA KHAN Student, Lucknow

It has been two months since this lockdown started. In the beginning most of us were not very serious about it. We thought it’s just a matter of days and soon virus chain will be broken. We will get rid of the deadly virus forever but nothing of that happened and soon we faced second, third and now its fourth lockdown.

The phase made many of us bring out the hidden skills in us. And it was amazing to rediscover oneself as a complete homebody. Also for me lockdown was never being away from friends as I am too close to my family especially to my younger sister who proved to be my best quarantine pal.

I love cooking and so during this period I tried different kinds of recipes for my family and everyone praised my culinary skills. I feel extremely happy to have got an opportunity to reowk on my cooking hobby and polish it too. Also reading novels, watching movies and comedy shows and OTT series with my siblings was a fun time pass.

The holy month of Ramazan to fell in the period and gave us all umpteen time to offer prayers and connect with almighty. I continued connecting with my friends and cousins via video calls almost every second day. Earlier I didn’t get time to pamper myself and take care of my skin but in last few weeks I got a lot of time to follow a skin care routine. Studies too continued as our syllabus completion with the help of online classes. Through this lockdown I have learned that our life style and habits can change easily and it’s on us how we mould ourselves in our regular lives. Also we should appreciate little moments of happiness that come our way as nothing is permanent in life.
