LUCKNOW: Marriage halls, beauty parlours, barbers’ saloons, auto-rickshaws, taxis and all state carriage services will remain in operation with a rider, said district magistrate Abhishek Prakash while announcing fresh guidelines for lockdown 5.0 on Monday. In beauty parlours and barbers’ saloons only hair cutting would be allowed.

“A few changes have been made in lockdown 5.0 -- from June 1 to 30,” said Prakash. As per the lockdown 5.0 guidelines, all registered taxis, three wheelers, auto-rickshaws and e-rickshaws would remain operational with a rider.

“No more passengers than the seating capacity would be allowed in the vehicle. Owner of the vehicle should compulsorily keep adequate quantity of sanitiser and would allow only masked passengers to board,” said Prakash.

He also made it clear that vehicles would be allowed to operate from 5am to 9pm only. Similarly, private carriage vehicles, including city buses, would ensure that they do not carry more passengers than the seating capacity of the vehicle.

The guidelines further stated that marriage halls and ‘baraat ghars’ would also remain open. “But it would be mandatory for the person to obtain permission for the marriage function. The total gathering of guests shall not exceed 30 persons,” the guideline further stated.

It also states that permission for marriage function can be got from additional district magistrate (ADM) or Lucknow Development Authority (LDA).

The DM said all activities in containment zones, barring essential services and home deliveries, would remain suspended till June 30.

He said in buffer zones -- the areas falling in 250 metre radius of the containment zones -- only shops dealing in essential goods, including medicines, milk supplies, fruits, vegetable, bakery goods, gas agency and ration shops, would remain open.
