LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said special attention was required towards the medical treatment system being followed in Agra, Meerut, Kanpur, Aligarh, Moradabad and Firozabad medical colleges in the fight against Covid-19.

While reviewing the unlock-1 situation at a high level meeting here, the CM said strict vigil should be maintained at every level and better coordination was required to minimise infections and bring down the rate of deaths due to Covid-19.

Taking note of availability of Trunet machines, he said these machines should be sent to all the 75 districts of the state immediately. Adityanath said officers of the health department should ensure that all Trunet machines were functional at all the places in a week. “Testing labs should be set up in all districts and the number of Covid-19 tests being carried out in UP be taken up from 10,000 to 15,000 per day in a week,” said the CM.

He said nodal officers of health department should mandatorily conduct spot inspections of all Covid and non-Covid hospitals while ventilators in hospitals should remain functional.

Adityanath said a report about the emergency services and operations etc carried out in hospitals should be made available regularly to ensure benefits of these services to the patients.

The CM expressed satisfaction over the new system of providing foodgrains immediately to new ration card holders. Earlier, a new ration card holder was able to get rations two months after issuance of new card.

He said a campaign for issuing new ration cards should be launched and foodgrains be made available to all to ensure that no one was left without food.

He said a work plan should be implemented in a week to check under weighing and other irregularities in distribution of food grains from the public distribution shops. He said the police patrolling should continue and door step delivery should continue to function smoothly in the containment zones.

He said Covid-19 could be effectively checked by strengthening vigilance and monitoring committees. Hand bills carrying information about protection against corona should be made available for train passengers, added the CM.
