CM’s state plane bringing sample test machines from Goa
LUCKNOW: The state health department is using the state plane of chief minister Yogi Adityanath to transport medical equipment from Goa.
A state government officer said on June 1 the state plane VT UPM Hawker used by the chief minister transported 21 TrueNet machines from Goa to Lucknow. On June 9, the plane will fly again to Goa to bring the next consignment of 34 machines.
The TrueNet machines can test coronavirus samples faster, within two hours, while other machines take four to five hours.
To expedite the tests, the chief minister ordered the procurement of machines from a Goabased company. When the officers informed him that transportation of the machines by road transport, goods train or transport plane would take time, he directed officers to use the state plan to transport the TrueNet machines and other equipment required in Covid hospitals established by the state government, the officer said.
Principal secretary, health and family welfare, Amit Mohan Prasad said CM Yogi Adityanath had set the target of 15,000 tests daily by June 15 and 20,000 tests per day by June 30. At present 9,000-10,000 samples were being tested in 31 laboratories across UP, he said.
On May 30, the state health department achieved the target of reserving one lakh beds in the designated level one, two and three category hospitals.
While 72,934 beds are available for the patients in the 403 level one category hospitals, 16,212 beds are reserved for the patients in the 75 level two category hospitals and 12,090 beds in level three category super specialized hospitals. As many as 2,000 beds were equipped with ventilators, he said.
The state government had also made arrangement for the stay of 15 lakh migrants in quarantine facilities with security and medical care.
