THE OWL AND ITS ANTICS

This owl was hiding behind a tree with its partner in Buddha Jayanti Park. And it decided to play hide-and-seek with walkers, peeping from behind the tree, hiding itself in the next instant! Amused, our reader Devendra Singh clicked a picture of this funny little fellow. Guess this wise bird knew we could do with some entertainment post lockdown.

THESE ARE NO ORDINARY BRIDES!

And they deserve a special surprise. The brides-to-be among doctors, nurses and midwives in Mumbai, who have been on the frontline battling Covid-19, will be gifted lehengas specially designed for them by designer Sonaakshi Raaj. The designer is reaching out to these unsung heroes in government hospitals with the help of the mayor of Mumbai,

Kishori Pednekar.

A TIMELY INVENTION

If a cop’s uniform is not visible while doing enforcement work at Covid-19 hotspots, it creates challenges. Jhansi Police has come up with transparent PPE kits that double up as raincoats. “We discussed the idea with a local tailor who agreed to make these for us. We sourced the material from Kanpur to get these made for ₹400 each,” says city SP Rahul Srivastava.

STANDING BY THE WARRIORS IN KHAKI

Our cops have shown exemplary courage in fighting an invisible enemy – the deadly Covid-19, many even lost their lives to the disease. Actor Diana Penty is standing by Mumbai Police under The Khaki Project in association with Salaam Bombay organisation. They are distributing essentials such as glasses and hand sanitisers to police personnel across the city. Penty urged all to join the initiative in her Instagram post.
