Ensure central norms are followed from June 8: CM

LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday said the union government’s guidelines should be strictly followed while starting activities allowed from June 8 under ‘Unlock-1’.

Besides allowing opening places of worship, the guidelines permit reopening of shopping malls, hotels and restaurant­s from June 8 with the condition of following social distancing norms and other regulatory measures.

Reviewing ‘Unlock-1’ arrangemen­ts at a meeting here, Yogi said doctors and their teams will have to work with full devotion and keep the rate of deaths due to Covid-19 low.

He said all necessary precaution­s should be taken to break the chain of Covid-19 infection. He said special attention should be paid in Gautam Buddha Nagar, Kanpur Nagar, Saharanpur, Agra, Aligarh, Moradabad, Meerut, Firozabad and Bulandshah­ar districts, medical facilities in these districts should be made better and samples be tested through pool testing in districts where a large number of migrant labourers have arrived recently.

Yogi said regular foot patrolling should be ensured in markets while patrolling by PRV-112 should be intensifie­d on highways. He said social distancing should be strictly followed and crowd should not be allowed to gather anywhere while traffic should be managed safely.

Yogi said those given infrared thermomete­rs and pulse oximeters should be made aware about using the equipment. He said necessary steps should be taken after scrutinizi­ng the spot inspection reports submitted by health department’s nodal officers. He said UPSRTC buses should be sanitised regularly. He said bus conductors and drivers should be asked to use masks and gloves and passengers should also wear masks while travelling in buses.

Yogi said work on medical colleges being set up on PPP model should be expedited and added that minor irrigation, agricultur­e and various other department­s should study the system of providing work to migrant labourers under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. He said food grain distributi­on should be carried out in a transparen­t manner and added that infrared thermomete­rs and sanitisers should be provided in offices, as well.
