UNLOCK-1 DOES NOT MEAN COMPLETE FREEDOM: YOGI

LUCKNOW : Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said that Unlock-1 did not mean complete freedom and all necessary precaution­s should be taken to break the chain of the Covid-19 infection.

More than five people should not be allowed to assemble at any place and effective police patrolling should be done to check crowding anywhere in Uttar Pradesh, he said.

Yogi Adityanath was reviewing Unlock-1 at a high-level meeting at his official residence here. He said the necessary guidelines for opening up allowable activities from June 8 should be issued and social distancing norms must be followed.

A plan should be formulated to create one crore man-days of work every day from June 15 to 30, he added.

Yogi Adityanath was reviewing Unlock-1 at a high-level meeting at his official residence here. He said the necessary guidelines for opening up allowable activities from June 8 should be issued and social distancing norms must be followed.

Laying stress on strict compliance with these guidelines, he said more than five people should not be allowed to assemble at any place and effective police patrolling should be done to check crowding anywhere in Uttar Pradesh.

Speaking to district magistrate­s, district police chiefs and principals of medical colleges through video conferenci­ng, he said regular communicat­ion should be maintained with ‘religious gurus’ and office bearers of hotel associatio­ns etc to ensure compliance with guidelines for reopening of religious places, offices, malls and restaurant­s.

He said security and sanitisati­on of courts along with screening of visitors should be ensured.

The district administra­tion and all other officers should study and act in accordance with the guidelines for activating the next phase of Unlock on June 8.

He also said about 35 lakh migrant labourers had returned to the state and the state government had set up a commission to provide them jobs. The state government had decided that 1 lakh to 1.5 lakh jobs should be created in every district from June 15, he added.

Creation of jobs should be done in accordance with provisions of the Prime Minister’s special economic package, he said.

Yogi Adityanath said a software should be developed to help provide jobs to migrant labourers. The state government proposed to engage migrant labourers in building a new UP, he added. A declaratio­n should be taken in writing from the migrant labourers of other states who were not willing to go back, he said.

A plan should be formulated to create one crore man-days of work every day from June 15 to 30, he added. The chief minister said all the department­s should identify the work to be carried out by them to make the plan a success.

The urban developmen­t and rural developmen­t department­s should select a district and conduct a study about providing jobs to street vendors there, he said. Arrangemen­ts for safe housing facilities on cheap rent should be provided in accordance with the PM’s special economic package, he said.

Special attention should be paid to Agra, Meerut, Aligarh, Kanpur and Firozabad medical colleges, he added.
