TWO CORONA DEATHS, 12 FRESH CASES IN LKO
LUCKNOW : Two persons lost their battle against Covid-19, in Lucknow, on Tuesday. CMS of Ambedkarnagar District Hospital, SP Gautam, passed away in the Covid hospital of SGPGI while an 80-year-old resident of Shardanagar on Kanpur road also succumbed to the infection.
So far, seven Covid patients had died in Lucknow. As many as 12 people were admitted to different hospitals after their samples tested positive for Covid on Tuesday. These included six people in Phoolbagh, two GRP constables, two ambulance staff, one person from Mirza Mandi in Chowk and a pregnant woman near Odeon cinema.
At present, there were 146 active cases in Lucknow while 328 have recovered, said officials.

CMS of Ambedkar Nagar district hospital Dr SP Gautam was admitted to the PGI’s Covid Hospital on June 4 after he complained of breathlessness. He was shifted to the ICU the next day, but his problems persisted, following which he was put on ventilator. But he passed away on Tuesday.
According to doctors, he was diabetic and his lungs were infected with coronavirus. Former CMO (Lucknow) Dr SNS Yadav expressed grief over the death of Dr Gautam. Doctors and paramedical staff of other hospitals also condoled his demise.
Meanwhile, an 80-year-old retired railways employee, a resident of Shardanagar, was admitted to the Railways Hospital on Sunday. He was diagnosed with Covid after death. The last rites of the body were performed as per Covid-19 protocols. Dr Narendra Agarwal, CMO, said he had audit of death of the elderly.
According to the spokesperson of CMO office Yogesh Raghuvanshi, two patients were discharged after recovery from infection. One of the patients was undergoing treatment at KGMU. The other was undergoing treatment at Lohia institute.
