Three women among 14 new cases in Lucknow
LUCKNOW:Fourteen more people, including three women tested positive for the coronavirus in the state capital on Thursday. Among the new cases were another nine people deployed in an outsourced/private agency working for the state government helpline.
Nine others of the same agency had tested positive on Wednesday and were shifted to hospital for treatment.
An outsourced staffer at SGPGI, who was deployed on Covid duty, a Provincial Armed Constabulary personnel, and patients from Aliganj and Niralanagar were also among those who tested positive on Thursday.
The outsourced staffer at SGPGI had fever two day before and his test was conducted later.
Yogesh Raghuvanshi, spokesperson for the office of the chief medical officer, said samples of 331 suspected cases were collected from different areas while eight patients were discharged from hospitals after they recovered completely.
Lucknow has 123 patients admitted to various hospitals for Covid-19 treatment at present.
ONLINE CONSULTANCY
A man from an apartment building in Gomti Nagar also tested positive at an ICMR approved private lab. He was prescribed the test via online consultancy by Dr Vaibhav Khanna on the basis of symptoms.
“This would be the first case where symptoms were evaluated in online consultancy and patient could be tested correctly without even visiting the hospital. The patient is now advised treatment as per protocol,” said Dr Khanna.
