‘Anamika’ case mastermind’s brother arrested

AGRA: The police on Thursday arrested Jaswant Singh, brother of Pushpendra Singh, who is the mastermind in the forged documents case in which several women were found to be working as teacher under the name of ‘Anamika Shukla’ in multiple schools.

Jaswant was arrested from Mainpuri by Kasganj police. Police said Jaswant, who had failed to complete his graduation, was himself working as a principal of a school in Kannauj under the forged name of ‘Vaibhav Kumar’.Police are hunting for Pushpendra, who goes by aliases of Raj and Neetu too.

This same gang had also allegedly helped a woman get a teacher’s job in the name of ‘Deepti Singh’ at Karhal in Mainpuri with fake documents. The fake ‘Deepti’ had recently resigned after the real ‘Deepti Singh’ of Bewar complained against her.

Kasganj ASP Pavitra Mohan Tripathi said: “Police were investigat­ing the case after the arrest of a lady teacher on June 6 in Kasganj, who was found to be working under the fake name of ‘Anamika Shukla’, and had constitute­d different teams to work out the case. The police teams found that several teachers were working in the name of ‘Anamika Shukla’, whose credential­s were used in planned manner for the teachers’ job.” Tripathi said: “Various names were surfacing for being involved in preparing fake documents for providing job opportunit­y to unemployed girls in the name of ‘Anamika Shukla’ and on Thursday police nabbed Jaswant, a resident of Mainpuri.”“On interrogat­ion, it was found that Jaswant and Pushpendra fudged documents for women of various districts to get teacher’s job, in lieu of money,” said the ASP.

Tripathi further said, “Jaswant admitted that he was himself got his job at higher secondary school in Haseran, Kannauj in the name of one ‘Vibhav Kumar’, a resident of Bhogaon in Mainpuri. Jaswant also got promoted and was presently principal at the school. He had passed only second year of BA (bachelor of arts) but was science teacher despite not even being a graduate.”The Kasganj police have intimated Kannauj police and the school authoritie­s for initiating action against Jaswant.

“Jaswant admitted that he and his brother helped about 20 applicants get jobs at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBV) and primary schools in Uttar Pradesh on the basis of forged documents,” said the ASP. The ASP said “the arrested accused told them that he and his brother used to contact those interested in teacher’s job and had their network spread in Kannauj, Mainpuri, Kasganj and various other districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh.” Later on Thursday, Jaswant was presented before court that sent him to jail in the case registered under IPC sections 420/467/468/471 at Soron police station of Kasganj after the arrest of lady teacher Supriya Singh, who was allegedly provided job by this gang in name of ‘Anamika Shukla’. “We are now in the process of tracing the other beneficiar­ies who have got jobs on forged documents with the help of Jaswant and Pushpendra,” said the ASP. The police also indicated that they were in process of declaring a reward for Pushpendra’s arrest.
