LUCKNOW: Fourteen secretariat departments will send letters and files to one another only through the e-office system from August 16.

However, they will continue to send files and letters to three departments—finance, justice and personnel— in physical form till further orders.

Chief secretary Rajendra Kumar Tiwari issued directions in this regard here on Tuesday during meeting convened to review e-office system of 14 departments of the secretariat.

The departments are political pension & UP freedom fighters welfare parishad, handicapped empowerment, micro, small and medium enterprises and export promotion, transport, labour, urban development, ‘gopan’ (confidential), state tax, rural development, tourism, administrative reforms, industrial development and infrastructure, overseas Indian department and stamp & registration.

“All fresh as well as old letters and files by these departments will be sent to the departments other than finance, justice and personnel through the e-office system only from August 16,” he said. “No physical files will be entertained from these departments after August 16,” he added.

Tiwari said he would convene meeting separately to discuss implementation of e-office system in finance, justice and personnel departments. He said implementation of 100% e-office system will not only ensure transparency but also cut down unnecessary delays in disposal of files.

“This system will also help stop spread of the Covid-19 through physical letters and files,” Tiwari said.
