500 sanitation staff cleaning Ayodhya for ‘Bhumi Pujan’
‘BJP LEADERS making door-to-door visits to urge people to decorate their homes’
LUCKNOW : A mega team of 500 sanitation workers is working round-the-clock to spruce up Ayodhya for August 5 when PM Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of Ram Mandir there.
These workers had toiled at Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj from January 15 to March 4, 2019 to keep the sprawling Kumbh Mela venue clean.
Like in Prayagraj during Kumbh, walls in main streets in Ayodhya are being decorated with graffiti and paintings depicting Ramayana era scenes.
The Ayodhya Municipal Corporation is leaving nothing to chance to deck up temple town for the ‘Bhumi Pujan’ ceremony.
“Around 500 sanitation workers have been deployed in Ayodhya to clean the city. In every ward, we are holding meetings to make sure Ayodhya is ready to welcome PM Narendra Modi on August 5,” said Ayodhya mayor Rishikesh Upadhyay.
Meanwhile, a separate team of BJP workers led by Ayodhya MLA Ved Prakash Gupta is trying to reach out to every household to make sure all houses there are decked up with lights and earthen lamps (diyas).
“We are asking locals to decorate their houses with ‘Rangoli’, decorative lights and earthen lamps on August 4, 5,” said
Gupta. The entire stretch from Saket PG Degree College, Ayodhya, upto Hanuman Garhi temple is being renovated by PWD for the PM’s visit.
PM Modi’s helicopter is expected to land at a helipad being prepared at Saket Degree College.
On the entire route, ‘welcome gates’ will also come up. Ayodhya Municipal Corporation is getting walls painted depicting various features of Ayodhya on the route.
As the PM will also pay obeisance to lord Hanuman at Hanuman Garhi temple, entire temple is being spruced up. Majestic stairs of the historic temples are being cleaned and overhead power cables being removed.
