LUCKNOW: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Tuesday said senior leaders of her party, based on their caste, will now fight for the cause of victims of crime and injustice in Uttar Pradesh.

Expressing concern over rising crime in the state, the BSP chief said the party leaders belonging to the same caste as that of the victim will visit the spot of the incident of atrocities, injustice or serious and sensitive crime cases and lead the fight for justice to the victim.

Addressing a press conference at Delhi, the BSP chief said, in cases of petty crime, the BSP leaders will talk to the administrative and police officers on telephone to ensure that the victims get justice.

The special arrangement has been made by the party in view of the deteriorating law and order in Uttar Pradesh and failure of the state government to control crime, she said.

Mayawati said it was not possible for her to visit all the spots of crime as along with Uttar Pradesh she has to review working of the party organisation across the country and keep watch on the atrocities being committed on the weaker section in other states.

Senior BSP leader Gayacharan Dinkar, who belongs to Dalit community, will visit the spot in the cases of crime against Dalit and the tribal community.

Lalji Verma, who belongs to the backward community, will visit the spot in the cases of crime against the backward community. In the cases of atrocities against the Muslim community, Shamshuddin Raeen and party state unit president Munkad Ali will lead the fight for justice for victim. While Shamshuddin will raise the matter of atrocities against the Muslim community in Lucknow division and four divisions of West UP, Munkad Ali has been entrusted with the task in remaining 13 divisions.

National general secretary, Satish Chandra Mishra, who is considered the upper caste face of the BSP, will visit the spot in the cases of crime against the Brahmins and other upper caste communities.

Mayawati said the party leaders will also take the district president, chief sector in-charge while visiting the spot or the victims. “I wish to make it clear that if the people belonging to any caste or community do not get justice under the BJP government, he will definitely get the same when BSP forms the government,” she said.

› It has been observed that leaders belonging to the same caste as that of the victims gel with the community members during the spot visit. BSP LEADER
