Command centres, rapid response teams to fight Covid
LUCKNOW: Dedicate Integrated Covid Control and Command Centres (ICCCC) will now be set up in the rural areas of Lucknow as well.
The initiative is part of the district administration’s latest attempt to curb the rising Covid-19 cases in the state capital.
In addition, the administration has set up 110 rapid response teams to cater to the needs of people in the rural parts of the city.
“ICCCC is the need of an hour. It has actually proved helpful in managing things in an organised manner. Hence, we are going to set up ICCCC in rural areas in order to cater to the need of the rural folk,” district magistrate Abhishek Prakash said.
The administration decided on this step after ICCCC established in the city turned out to be a success in Covid management.
The district magistrate said these command centres would be set up at the community health centres (CHC) and they would function under subdivisional magistrates (SDMs).
“The rural version would also work on the same pattern as the one operational in the city. Once a patient tests positive, the officials would contact the person to analyse the health condition, travel history and the facilities available at home. On the basis of the condition and facilities available, the team at the control centre would assist the patient,” he added.
He said the rural version of the Covid care centre would become operational from August 25 onwards. The district magistrate also formed 110 rapid response teams. “The main purpose of the teams is to carry out contact tracing of patients and to ensure hospitalisation of the traced contact on the basis of their ailments. They would also ensure home isolation of the patients,” he added.
