Man stabbed to death over suspicion of illicit relationship

LUCKNOW: A 35-year-old man, Ashish Yadav, was allegedly stabbed to death by his two younger brothers, Ankur and Alok Yadav, after a confrontation at their Chinhat residence late on Monday night, said police officials.

The crime was a fall out of youngest brother Alok’s suspicion that Ashish was having an illicit relationship with his wife, said cops.

Additional DCP (east) Amit Kumar said Alok’s wife, Kajal lodged an FIR of murder against him and his other brother Ankur. He said the two accused escaped after committing the crime and their mobile phones were also switched off.

He said Alok, 31, who was youngest of the three brothers, was the only one married among them. Alok married Kajal around eight years ago and had a five-year-old son from the wedlock. “For the past few months, Alok and Ankur had a soured relationship with their elder brother Ashish as they suspected him having a relationship with Kajal,” said another police official while sharing further details about the incident.

He said some locals and neighbours testified that Alok and Ankur had a strained relationship. The cops said Kajal mentioned in the complaint that Alok and Ankur scuffled with Ashish on Monday night and attacked him. The woman also stated that the duo locked her and her child into a room when she opposed them.

“The woman said she was helplessly shouting while the two brothers murdered their eldest sibling. She later freed herself with the help of neighbours and informed the police about the incident,” he said.

The cop said primary examination also suggested that the victim was stabbed brutally.
