PARTY FULFILLED LAPTOP PROMISE ONCE AGAIN: SP
LUCKNOW: The Samajwadi Party (SP) said on Sunday that it had fulfilled all the promises made to the people. It had distributed 96 laptops to class 10 and 12 toppers of the UP Board since August 24.
“Party president Akhilesh Yadav had announced that the party would distribute 100 laptops--50 to the toppers of class 10 and an equal number to those of class 12. this year. Since August 24, the party distributed 96 laptops,” said party state spokesperson and former minister Rajendra Chaudhary in a press statement.
“The district presidents and party legislators in different districts went to the houses of the toppers and gave them the laptops. Each student’s parents too were felicitated,” said Chaudhary. Among the 50 class twelfth laptops beneficiaries, 47 have received them.
Those who got the laptops are: Class 12 first ranker Anuraj Malik from Baghpat, second ranker Pranjal Singh (Pratapgarh) and third ranker Utkarsh Shukla (Auriya). Similarly, of the 50 class 10 beneficiaries, 49 have been handed over their laptops. Among them are first ranker Riya Jain of Baghpat, second ranker Abhimanyu Verma (Barabanki) and third ranker Yogesh Pratap Singh (Barabanki).
SP chief Akhilesh Yadav congratulated all the beneficiaries.
According to Rajendra Chaudhary, Akhilesh Yadav said that the previous SP government gave 18 lakh laptops to students. But the BJP that had promised to give laptops to students had not fulfilled the promise.
The BJP had also said that on entering college, all students would get 1GB per month data free under Swami Vivekanand Yuva Internet Yojna. But the BJP only betrayed people, he said.
