No Sunday curbs, now routine mkt closure: Yogi
CM also directs resumption of tehsil diwas and thana diwas for public grievance redressal at tehsil and police station levels.
LUCKNOW Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday called for ending Sunday closure of markets in the state and restoring normal, routine weekly closure. He also asked for resumption of Tehsil Diwas and Thana Diwas for public grievance redressal at tehsil and police station Tehsil levels.
With this, the Uttar Pradesh government has completely lifted weekend curbs. Last week, the state government withdrew Saturday’s restrictions. The weekend restrictions were introduced on July 14.
At the Covid-19 and Unlock review meeting held at Lok Bhawan here, the chief minister asked officers concerned to end Sunday restrictions but emphasised: “Test everyone in containment zones for Covid-19”.
The CM said: “Encourage the hospitality industry--hotels and restaurants--outside containment zones to operate well following Covid-19 safety protocols. People should be made aware about corona infection and at the same time economic activities should be stepped up.”
He asked the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI), King
George’s Medical University (KGMU )and Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Medical Institute to set up 1,000 ICU beds among themselves.
On public grievance redressal, he said, “Conduct Tehsil Diwas and Thana Diwas following Covid-19 guidelines. Additional district magistrates, police circle officers and tehsildars should engage in immediate redressal of public grievances in their respective areas,” he said.
He asked the officers concerned to make efforts for increasing GST (Goods and Service Tax) collection and register more and more traders under it. Yogi said that he would summon a meeting of Udyog Bandhu for a dialogue with industrialists and entrepreneurs.
Now make efforts for ‘ease of living’
At the review meeting, chief minister Yogi Adityanath also called for working towards achieving ‘ease of living’ objective of the state government. Expressing satisfaction over of UP jumping to the second rank from last year’s twelfth in ‘ease
of doing business’, Yogi said that now the government should make a work plan for efforts towards ‘ease of living’ for the public. This would help usher in extensive change in living for people.
Cows for malnourished children
Yogi Adityanath asked officers concerned to make arrangements for providing cows from cow shelters to the families of malnourished children, under the abandoned cattle care scheme.
