No let-up: Lko still leads with 887 cases

11 more succumb to Covid. City has 8,661 active cases while 25,211 patients have recovered till date

LUCKNOW: Continuing to lead the Covid tally in the state, Lucknow recorded 887 new positive cases on Tuesday while 853 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery.

However, 11 people lost their battle against Covid, taking the total number of deaths to 461 so far. Presently there are 8661 active cases in the city, while 25,211 patients have recovered till date. Around 5,745 people were tested in different areas of the state capital on Tuesday.

Senior Samajwadi Party leader MLC RS Yadav died in Rajdhani Covid Hospital on Tuesday. SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav has expressed grief over his death.

A 61-year-old man from the old city died in the KGMU. According to KGMU spokespers­on Dr Sudhir Singh, “The patient was admitted in a serious condition and had history of throat cancer.”

A 34-year-old resident of Dubagga and a 45-year-old man from Bareli also died in the KGMU on Tuesday.Other deaths took place in other hospitals of the city. Meanwhile,nodal Covid control officer Vishwa Bhushan Mishra tested positive.

SDM Malihabad Pallavi Mishra too tested positive on Tuesday and as a result the office of Malhabad Tehsil was closed for 48 hours.

SERO SURVEY WORK COMPLETE A total of 1,440 samples were collected from 45 places in the city during the five-day sero survey that concluded on Tuesday, said deputy CMO Milind Vardhan. He added, “Thirty-two samples each were collected from 45 places in five days. These were sent to KGMU for test.”
