GOVT TO INCREASE SAMPLE TESTING

The state government has decided to increase sample testing for Covid-19 even as cases were on the decline. On Monday, 1.38 lakh samples were tested, taking the sample tests tally to 1.42 crore, said Navneet Sehgal, additional chief secretary, information. On July 27, the state recorded 26,000 active cases, after which the tally kept rising. But on Oct 27, the tally came down to 26,000.

UP’s RECOVERY RATE 93%

A total of 4.40 lakh Covid patients had been discharged after recovery from infection, taking the recovery rate to 93%. The case fatality rate in the state was 1.46%.
