BODY OF WOMAN FOUND FLOATING IN GOMTI

LUCKNOW : Even as the Lucknow police were yet to ascertain the identity of a middle-aged woman whose throat slit body was found on a deserted stretch in Kakori area on Monday, another body of an unidentified woman was found floating in Gomti in Wazirganj area on Tuesday

Inspector of Wazirganj police station SB Shukla said the woman’s body was found near Hanuman Setu by some local fisherman.

He said the body seemed to be at least a week old and the woman’s age would be around 35 years.

“It seems the body has been disposed of there by some unknown people as no incident of woman jumping into the river or any missing complaint of woman has surfaced so far. The police are trying to ascertain the identity of the woman by circulating her picture and details of his clothes and belongings found on the body,” said Shukla.

He said the body had been kept in the mortuary till the identity is not ascertained.
