CM: VACCINATION WILL MARK A NEW CHAPTER IN FIGHT AGAINST COVID
LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said a new chapter would begin to check the spread of Covid-19 disease with the launch of the vaccination campaign on Saturday.
He was speaking to the editors of the print and electronic media at his official residence here on Friday. The media worked with courage and commitment in public interest in the fight against Covid, he observed. The media would play an important role in removing any confusion even during vaccination, he said.
The vaccination campaign would help control and break the chain of Covid infection, he said. The number of active Covid-19 cases had already come down to less than 10,000 in UP, he added. He said this had been possible due to the team work being done in the state.
The vaccine would reach the people in accordance with the guidelines and the priority sequence set by the union government, he said. The state government and the Centre’s efforts and arrangements had been able to successfully contain the spread of Covid-19, the chief minister said.
He said arrangements for the vaccination had been made in accordance with the protocol. Better surveillance, testing and contact tracing had helped in checking the spread of the coronavirus disease, the chief minister said. He said the health infrastructure had been strengthened in the Covid-19 period.
