LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed development projects in Ayodhya on Sunday and instructed officials to settle issues related with land acquisition and complete work within deadlines.
“According to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, the commitment is to make Ayodhya a world-class destination,” the chief minister said to reporters at the helipad before leaving Ayodhya.
“After the bhoomi pujan of Ram Mandir by Prime Minister Narendra Modi (on August 5, 2020), the flow of devotees and tourists in Ayodhya has increased. This shows there is a lot of potential in Ayodhya,” he said.
“Spiritual and commercial development of Ayodhya will be carried out. Projects of various departments are being executed here,” he said. Adityanath also said various states wanted to open their guesthouses and several akharas (monastic orders) were keen to have their dharamshalas (lodges) in Ayodhya. At the review meeting held at the Ram Katha museum, the chief minister instructed officials to settle issues related with land acquisition at the earliest so that projects could be completed in time. The Ayodhya administration is acquiring land for the expansion of the local airport, which has been named as Sri
Ram International Airport. The administration is also acquiring land for the new Ayodhya township. He asked officials to make arrangements for parking of vehicles at important places connecting various parikrama routes. The CM also told them to
ensure proper lighting facilities at all the ghats, roads, crossings, Parikrama Marg and other places. All projects related to the railways should be completed on priority, including the railway overbridges, he said.
The chief minister also
directed officials to communicate directly with shopkeepers who have been displaced due to the widening of roads and other developmental projects and ensure their rehabilitation.
He also instructed officials to develop Ram Ki Paidi (on the
banks of the Saryu) on the lines of Har Ki Pauri on the banks of the Ganga in Haridwar. Flow of water in river Saryu should be ensured to start cruise service from Naya Ghat at the earliest, he added. Drains should not fall into the Saryu river, he added.
