LUCKNOW: In order to eliminate land disputes and save people from falling into the trap of fraudsters, the Yogi Adityanath government has introduced a 16-digit Unicode to mark all kinds of land, the state government said in a statement on Sunday.

From now onwards, every piece of land in the state will have its own unique identity.

The revenue department will issue this Unicode for marking all kinds of agricultural, residential and commercial land and now a person can know the details of the land at a single click.

The Unicode will put an end to the fake registries of disputed pieces of land and the scheme is being implemented across the state. The work has s t arted in most of t he districts.

While the Unicode assessment for plots has started in all revenue villages, the work of marking the disputed plots in the computerised management system is being done by the revenue courts, the statement said.

This endeavour has come close on the heels of another unique scheme “Varasat”.

The government started the succession of land and property (Varasat) scheme in December to put an end to disputes related to land and property, said the statement.

Aimed at long-pending land disputes, especially in the rural areas, it will also put a check on the land mafia who generally target disputed lands in rural areas.

The “Varasat” scheme will continue till February 15 and the work has been completed in most of the districts under the scheme.

According to the statistics of the revenue department, approximately six lakh complaints have been disposed of till date.

FROM NOW ONWARDS, EVERY PIECE OF LAND IN THE STATE WILL HAVE ITS OWN UNIQUE IDENTITY.
