Kings of Leon album to be 1st in NFT form
American rock bank Kings of Leon will on Friday release their new album, When you See Yourself, in the form of a non-fungible token (NFT), Rolling Stones reported. This will make it the first rock band to launch music as NFT, a cryptographic technology gaining popularity among art collectors. NFTs work on blockchain, similar to how cryptocurrencies do, but each NFT is unique – which gives a person exclusive ownership, in the same way as someone may own an original piece of painting even though copies can exist. According to the Rolling Stones, the band will offer three types of tokens: a special album package, a token with live show perks like front-row seats for life and as an exclusive audiovisual art set.
