CHIEF MINISTER GIVES NOD FOR SAINIK SCHOOL EXPANSION, HOSTEL FOR GIRLS

LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has asked officials of Caption Manoj Kumar Pandey UP Sainik School, Lucknow to organise events to remember the valour of our past during the diamond jubilee celebratio­n events of the school.

The CM attended a meeting of the board of governors of the Sainik School on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by deputy chief minister Dinesh Sharma and other senior officials of the school and the government.

The chief minister further suggested that dignitarie­s from various fields must also be invited who can motivate the students to excel in their lives.

Establishe­d in 1960, the school was the first Sainik School establishe­d in the country.

It has now entered into its diamond jubilee year. The school administra­tion is planning a grand event to honour the legacy of the school.

The school is said to be a brainchild of former CM of UP Dr Sampurnana­nd.

The school recently became the first Sainik School in the country to enroll girl students.

The chief minister also gave a go ahead for constructi­on of a new auditorium, outer boundary wall, hostel for girls and expansion of capacity of the school. The state government has also announced to open new Sainik Schools in other parts of the state.
