Oscar Wilde’s great escape
A giant graffiti, likely to have been created by elusive artist Banksy, is seen on a wall of Reading Prison in Berkshire, UK. The artwork shows a prisoner resembling the facility’s famous inmate from 1895-1897, Irish poet Oscar Wilde, escaping on a rope tied to a typewriter. Wilde had been imprisoned there on charges of ‘gross indecency’.
