APRIL EDITION OF ENGINEERIN­G ENTRANCE EXAM JEE-MAIN PUT OFF

The next phase of Joint Entrance Exam (Main), or JEE (Main), which was slated to be held from April 27 to 30, has been postponed due to the upsurge in Covid-19 cases across the country, the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced on Sunday. The revised dates will be announced at least 15 days prior to the exam, it added. “Looking into the present situation of the Covid-19 pandemic and also taking into account the safety and well-being of the candidates and examinatio­n functionar­ies, it has been decided to postpone the JEE (Main) - 2021 April session,” the agency said. Union education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ also confirmed the developmen­t in a tweet. Decision to defer the exam was taken after requests from candidates and parents.

LUCKNOW: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Sunday postponed the Joint Entrance Examinatio­n (Main) 2021 for April session. The exam was scheduled for April 27, 28 and 30.

The revised dates for the JEE (Main) – 2021 will be announced later on and at least 15 days before the examinatio­n, said Union HRD (education) minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank in a tweet on Sunday.

The HRD minister tweets, “Given the current Covid-19 situation, I have advised director general, NTA, to postpone the JEE (Main) – 2021 April Session.

I would like to reiterate that safety of our students and their academic career are my prime concerns right now.”

“The JEE (Main) -2021 has been postponed looking at the present situation of the Covid-19 pandemic and also taking into account the safety and well-being of the candidates and examinatio­n functionar­ies. It has been decided to postpone the JEE (Main),” said Sadhana Parashar, senior director examinatio­n, NTA.

In the meantime, candidates are advised to use this time to prepare themselves better for the examinatio­n.

They can also take practice (full length/ chapter wise) tests on the NTA Abhyas App from the comfort of their homes.
