UPSC-NDA examination candidates face problems
The weekend curfew clashed with Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), National Defence Academy (NDA), I Exam (2021) causing problems to aspirants who reached the state capital from other districts on Sunday.
Take the case of Ambedkar Nagar resident, Dilip Verma, for example. Verma’s examination centre was at Rajkiya Balika College in Gomti Nagar.
After spending the night at Charbagh railway station, he found that there were no vehicles to take candidates to examination centres.
“Private vehicles fleeced candidates like me. I paid Rs 150 to reach the examination centre.
Other candidates who came to Lucknow from other districts to take the examination were similarly fleeced,” Verma said.
“When all major examinations in the country were cancelled, why this examination wasn’t called off?,” he asked.
“The decision was without any logic as several lives were put to risk (because of holding the exam),” he said.
Nearly 40000 candidates appeared for the UPSC NDA I Exam (2021) in 109 centres in Lucknow. The examination was conducted in offline mode across the country. The National Defence Academy exam was conducted in two shifts – 10 am and 2 pm. Their problems remained after the examination too as all roadside eateries were closed.
Vaibhav, a candidate, said mathematics paper was tough while general studies paper was relatively easier.
The written examination comprised questions in mathematics and general ability test. The exam duration was for 5 hours, and the maximum marks were 300 for mathematics and 600 for the general ability test. The written examination comprised of objective type questions.
The examination was conducted by the commission for admission to the army, navy, and air force wings of the NDA for the 147th course and for the 109th Indian Naval Academy commencing from January 2, 2022. This examination drive will fill up 400 posts in the organization.
