285 hospitals in 30 dists to get oxygen from 90 MSME units

LUCKNOW : The state government on Tuesday directly connected 285 hospitals in 30 UP districts with 90 micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) units which will supply oxygen to these medical facilities.

Taking corrective measures to check shortage of oxygen in the hospitals treating Covid patients, MSME minister Sidharth Nath Singh directed officials via a virtual meeting to supply oxygen meant for industrial use to hospitals.

Singh, however, clarified that mandatory oxygen requiremen­t of industries will be fulfilled.

During the meeting, Singh told officials that 285 hospitals in 30 districts will get oxygen supply from 90 MSME units. These will ensure 912.335 metric tons of oxygen to these hospitals, said the minister.

Also present in the meeting, additional chief secretary, MSME, Navneet Sehgal said there would be no shortage of oxygen cylinders for refilling.

Agra, Mathura, Firozabad, Aligarh, Ayodhya, Barabanki, Ambedkar Nagar, Amethi, Bareli, Bahraich, Gorakhpur, Jhansi, Kanpur, Auraiya, Lucknow, Muzaffarna­gar, Prayagraj, Shamli, Varanasi, Chandauli, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Bulandshah­r, Bijnor, Meerut, Moradabad, Mirzapur, Kanpur Dehat, Sant Kabir Nagar and Mau among others.
