21 more deaths, 5,902 fresh cases in Lko

LUCKNOW: The state capital reported 21 more deaths and 5,902 fresh Covid-19 cases on Wednesday as the number of active cases (patients under treatment) in Lucknow reached 55,980.

Till now, 1,62,264 cases and 1,565 deaths have been reported here since the outbreak of the pandemic in March last year. With 2,269 patients recovering in the past 24 hours, the total number of recoveries went up to 1,04,719 in Lucknow.

“The recovery rate in Lucknow is 64.53%,” said Dr Abhishek Shukla, secretary general of the Association of International Doctors. During the day, the medical education department made Prof Virendra Atam, who is head of the department of medicine, in charge of the Covid-19 facility and Prof Sandip Tiwari, head of the department of trauma surgery, joint incharge of the Covid-19 facility on the King George’s Medical University campus.
