Hosps look towards friends in industry

-

LUCKNOW : Finding no solution to the oxygen crisis, hospitals in Lucknow had given an SOS call to their industrialist friends for oxygen otherwise meant for industrial use.

“I could contact a plant that manufactures industrial-use oxygen in Hamirpur, and they have promised 50 cylinders a week. It will be a long journey, but certainly a life-saving one,” said the manager of a hospital in Alambagh, who did not wish to be named.

Another hospital in Gomti Nagar contacted industrial units in Banda and Hamirpur.

“We have been assured cylinders and gas for some time till the crisis remains in the state capital. Hopefully, once we get some additional oxygen, we can admit more patients,” said the owner of the hospital, who did not wish to be named. Industrial units in other districts, too, have been contacted and some hospitals are now looking for oxygen separator/concentrator to get them installed at their hospital as these can ease the crisis in the future also.
