LUCKNOW : Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Sidharth Nath Singh on Thursday strongly refuted allegations of Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on the issue of diversion of oxygen supply, saying that Uttar Pradesh’s quota of oxygen was being supplied to Delhi.

Reacting to Delhi CM’s allegations, Singh said, “The centre has fixed oxygen quota for all states. Under this policy, Uttar Pradesh’s quota has been curtailed and diverted to Delhi.”

Sharing details with media persons, he said, “Uttar Pradesh’s quota of oxygen produced by a Modinagar-based plant, INOX Air Products, has been curtailed from 149 metric tons to 80 metric tons. This curtailed quota of UP is being supplied to Delhi.”

“From the India Glycols Limited plant, state’s entire quota of 40 metric tons is being supplied to Delhi. From the Roorke plant, Uttar Pradesh is getting only 15 metric tons from allotted share of 40 metric tons. All this deduction is being supplied to Delhi,” he added.

Singh, who is also the spokesman for the state government, further said from the Panipat plant, state’s entire quota of 40 metric tons was being supplied to Delhi, adding that 175 metric tons of more oxygen (as compared to Uttar Pradesh) was being given Delhi.

“The Uttar Pradesh government is not crying and neither objecting to this diversion. It is getting its oxygen supply from other sources,” the minister said.

“The Delhi CM is trying to hide his failures by making false allegations. The reality is that the Delhi CM has not been able to do anything to save lives in Delhi.”
