Meerut hospitals also face O2 shortage

MEERUT: Hospitals treating Covid-19 patients here are facing shortage of oxygen and sending SOS messages to health and district officials for supply of oxygen since midnight. At least 21 patients were shifted to other hospitals on Sunday night due to shortage of oxygen, said officials while insisting they were working overtime to overcome the shortage of life-saving gas. Additional district magistrate (ADM) of city area Ajay Tiwari admitted that they are receiving SOS messages from almost all hospitals about shortage of oxygen. Tiwari said the tanker of oxygen was already on the way to Meerut from Modinagar plant and hope that supply would be resumed in hospitals soon.
