CLOSED BPCL TO RESTART PRODUCTION, MAKE OXYGEN CYLINDERS

LUCKNOW: The Bharat Pumps and Compressor Limited (BPCL), a closed public sector unit in Prayagraj, decided to restart the unit and manufacture oxygen cylinders after it was approached by the state government.The company will manufacture around 3,000 oxygen cylinders in the next three weeks, the state government said in a statement issued on Monday.

“When the state government came to know about the company (BPCL), which was lying closed, the government approached it to restart the factory and resume production,” said Navneet Sehgal, additional chief secretary, MSME.

The state government has assured help to the BPCL to start production again.

According to a BPCL spokesperson, the state government has assured all logistics to facilitate functioning of the factory. The unit will also give employment to local workers.
