Britney to speak about conservator-ship at court hearing
Britney Spears will speak about the status of the conservatorship at a court hearing. According to People.com, Los Angeles Superior Court judge, Brenda Penny, has scheduled a hearing on June 23 for the American singer to speak about the conservatorship.
Samuel Ingham, her courtappointed probate attorney, didn’t specify exactly what Britney wanted to speak about but he said that the pop star “requested that I seek from the court a status hearing at which she can address the court directly,” and that her statement would pertain to the “status of the conservatorship”, which she has been under for 13 years.
Her father, Jamie Spears, has been her conservator since 2008 but he initially stepped down from his role in her life in 2019 due to personal health reasons. However, last year, she submitted court documents to insist she didn’t want her father to return to his position.
Last summer, she made it known that she “strongly opposed” to having her father return as the sole conservator of her affairs.
