ADMITTED TO PGI, KIDNEY PATIENT JUMPS TO DEATH

LUCKNOW: A patient undergoing treatment at Rajdhani Covid Hospital allegedly committed suicide by jumping off from the toilet at the third floor of hospital here on Thursday.

The 32-year-old patient was suffering from chronic kidney ailment. On Thursday morning, when washrooms were non-occupied, he jumped out through a small window and fell down.

LUCKNOW: A patient undergoing treatment at Rajdhani Covid Hospital allegedly committed suicide by jumping off from the toilet at the third floor of hospital here on Thursday.

The 32-year-old man was suffering from chronic kidney ailment.

“Since both of his kidneys had failed with time, he was on maintenanc­e Haemodialy­sis from August 2018,” said professor Radha Krishna Dhiman, director, Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS).

Resident of Judaipur area of Sitapur district, the patient had tested Covid-19 positive on April 16.

He was admitted in Rajdhani Covid Hospital, Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, on April 18 and was receiving his haemodialy­sis as well as covid treatment here in Hospital. His second report of Covid also came positive.

“On Thursday morning, when washrooms were non-occupied, he jumped out through a small window and fell down. He was taken immediatel­y to the Emergency of RCH and the trauma team rushed to revive him but failed to do so. His body has been handed over to the police,” said professor Dhiman

Inspector Anand Shukla of PGI Police station said, “He jumped out of the toilet at 11.30 am from third floor, he died on the spot.”
