Govt attributes drop in test to lockdown
Delhi health minister Satyendar Jain said the government has not changed its testing strategy and attributed the low number of Covid-19 tests to the ongoing lockdown in the city. A senior health official on condition of anonymity said another reason is also because a number of health workers, both in private and government setups, are down with Covid-19 “The Delhi government has not reduced its testing strategy. In the face of the lockdown, public movement has substantially dropped. Footfall has decreased across our dispensaries and hospitals. It is only because of the reduced footfall that the tests have slightly decreased. But, otherwise the tests are being conducted for all in large numbers,” he said.
