UP reports 332 deaths, highest in a single day
LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh on Friday reported 332 fresh deaths, taking the toll to 12570. As many as 34626 fresh Covid cases took the case tally to 1252324.
The state has tested 40798042 Covid samples till now including 244148 in the past 24 hours. “There were over 108000 RT PCR samples tested in the labs in the past 24 hours. The tests included over 22,000 done by the private labs,” said Amit Mohan Prasad, additional chief secretary, medical health.
Lucknow reported 3958 cases, Kanpur 1875, Prayagraj 1232, Ghaziabad 1375, Gautam Buddha Nagar 1310, Jhansi 946, Gorakhpur 828, Moradabad 1690, Meerut 1561, Agra 631 and Varanasi 1573. Kanpur reported 19 deaths, Prayagraj 14,Ghaziabad 17, Gautam Buddha Nagar 10, Jhansi 14, Chandauli 11 and Varanasi 15.
37 die in Lko on second consecutive day
For the second consecutive day on Friday 37 patients succumbed to Covid-19 in Lucknow, though fresh daily Covid cases came below the 4000 mark after a gap of 20 days.
A day ago, Lucknow had reported 37 deaths. Till now 1799 deaths have been reported here.
The city reported 3958 fresh cases while 6073 defeated the virus and recovered in the past 24 hours. “Lucknow has till now reported 204788 covid cases of which 158844 have recovered and the recovery rate is 77.56%,” said Dr Abhishek Shukla, secretary general, Association of International Doctors.
