ARMED FORCES REPAIR NONFUNCTIONAL O2 PLANT IN AGRA
AGRA: The Armed Forces and local authorities joined hands to increase oxygen supply in Agra, after the local authorities requested the Army to assist in repair of a non functional oxygen plant to augment the oxygen supply.
According to a press statement issued by public relations officer, Defence, a technical team from the Army was immediately deployed on April 27 for damage assessment. The team identified a big crack and several leakages in the air separator unit. Over 12 hours, the team dismantled and welded all the cracks.
“Another critical component was required to generate oxygen. An Air Force aircraft flew in the component from Ahmedabad. Further process to fit the component and make the plant operational was completed on emergency basis,” stated the press statement. “The plant was made fully operational by midnight. By 7:30 AM on April 30, the plant had filled 240 cylinders successfully filled for government / pvt hospitals in Agra and 40 for the Military Hospital,” the press statement added.
