36 OXYGEN CONCENTRATORS PROVIDED TO EASTERN UP DISTRICTS: MLC
VARANASI : BJP MLC AK Sharma said 36 oxygen concentrators have been provided to Covid hospitals in various districts of eastern UP to help patients suffering from coronavirus.
The move comes at a time when the entire region is grappling with shortage of medical oxygen following the surge in Covid cases.
Sharma said five oxygen concentrators each were given to Varanasi, Azamgarh, Ballia, Mirzapur, Ghazipur four each to Mau and Jaunpur and three to Chandauli.
The oxygen concentrators arrived in Varanasi on Saturday following special efforts by Sharma who said more of this crucial medical equipment will be sent to other districts of Purvanchal on Sunday.
“This machine extracts oxygen from the atmosphere. Up to 5 liters of oxygen can be given to the patient with this machine, which increases the oxygen saturation from 90 to 95 percent. This electricity operated machine provides 24 hours of oxygen to the patient continuously through the nasal cannula,” said the former Gujarat cadre IAS officer.
Divisional commissioner Deepak Agarwal expressed special gratitude to Sharma for this special gesture. Additional chief medical officer, Varanasi, Dr Sanjay Rai said oxygen concentrators will help a lot in managing the Covid situation.
