Deendayal Upadhyay govt hosp gets its own oxygen plant
The Pt Deendayal Upadhyay Government Hospital here got its own oxygen plant at 9.30 pm on Friday and immediately started supplying the life saving gas to about 120 Covid patients admitted there, said district magistrate.
“I am happy to share that Deen Dayal Govt Hospital got a 600 LPM PSA Oxygen generation plant of its own. It has been provided by a local industrialist under corporate social responsibility (CSR).
It was ordered on April 20 and brought from Aurangabad, Maharashtra.
The plant was installed on Friday and started functioning immediately. The entire fund was deposited in advance upfront,” said district magistrate Kaushalraj Sharma.
The DM said prominent citybased industrialist RK Chaudhary and his son Gautam Chaudhary provided all the financial support to help the people in this time of need.
Sources said the entire set up of the oxygen plant cost over Rs 1 crore.
The DM added due to the efforts made by the administration and the industrialist the work was completed in such a short span of time otherwise it would have taken many more days as the Maharashtra firm had a long waiting list.
The city had been grappling with shortage of medical oxygen and with this new plant the 200-bed hospital, which was functioning with only 120 beds due to shortage of oxygen, can run to its full capacity.
This will not only help tide over the current crisis but also prove beneficial to the hospital in the long run, said the DM.
