I will function ina limited section of the set, says Sharad on resuming shoots

Sharad Kelkar has four projects lined up for release and he had been shooting for his fifth film prior to the imposition of lockdown in Maharashtra. But the actor, despite the on-going pandemic, was not worried about stepping out to shoot because of the “safe zone” on the set.

Talking about it, he says, “The film I had been shooting for has no other actor. It is a solo actor film and so, it was easier to shoot because I didn’t have to do my scenes in close proximity with anyone else. The unit was small as well.”

But what worries the actor is the fate of his upcoming films. Kelkar shares, “There were a lot of other films which were lined up for release in the first half of the year. Due to the resurgence in the Covid-19 numbers, they will be pushed and that will indirectly affect the release of my films.”

Going ahead, the Laxmii (2020) actor believes that resuming shoots won’t be an issue if everyone on set becomes “more sensitive”. “If we take precautions and follow all guidelines, we all can work. Awareness among each individual is important but everyone, as a collective, should be very careful. But first and foremost, we need to safeguard ourselves. Once we do that, we can safeguard others,” he says.

With increased Covid cases among children, Kelkar adds that he will try to create a bio bubble on the set of his upcoming project so as to not expose his daughter to the virus. “I’ll be doing the same things that I’ve been doing last year. There’s nothing extra that can be done. I’ll be wearing a mask and sanitising my hands in between shots and when I’m not before the camera. I’ll make sure that I function in a limited section of the set and not share it with anyone else,” he concludes.
