IIT-K takes measures to reduce students’ stress

- LUCKNOW:

The academic senate of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, has decided that there will be no termination from the undergraduate academic programmes at the end of 2020-21 (second semester) based on the academic performance, said IIT-K director, Abhay Karandikar.

The Institute has taken “several extraordinary measures” to reduce the stress of its students following the surge in Covid-19 cases in the state, according to a social media post of Karandikar.

He said, “The graduating students will be able to avail waiver for lab courses that were not offered in either semester of the 2020-21 academic year and will not be offered in the Summer Term 2021.” “The graduating students may avail waiver of 18 credits (or 2 courses) for any course type,” he said.
