5,555 IN 18-44 AGE GROUP GET COVID JAB IN LKO SO FAR

LUCKNOW : As many as 5,555 beneficiaries in the 18-44 age group had been vaccinated from May 1 to 4 in Lucknow since the third phase of the vaccination drive commenced on Saturday, informed officials of the health department on Tuesday. In the state 33,544 people in the same age group were vaccinated in seven districts.

However, till date 5,89,837 doses have been administered to the beneficiaries in the state capital, with 4,46,663 people having taken the first dose and 14,3,174 the second shot. On Tuesday the vaccine was administered to 9,358 people of all age groups in the state capital.

Health department officials said residents were getting themselves enrolled in the Cowin app . But residents said that there were technical glitches in the Cowin app.

SGPGI director RK Dhiman said, “The vaccination drive will be successful in reducing mortality rate among Covid patients . My appeal to everyone is to register themselves on Cowin app and we will be happy to vaccinate them.” Director, Medanta Hospital Rakesh Kapoor said, “At present, we only have vaccine to fall back upon in the fight against Covid , that’s why vaccination is important.”
