PVT HOSPS TOLD TO PROCURE VACCINES FROM MANUFACTURERS

-

LUCKNOW : Even as private hospitals have sought clarity on Covid vaccine doses supply, the state health and family welfare department has made it clear that the private hospitals and medical colleges will have to procure vaccines directly from manufacturers to run the vaccination drive.

“Private hospitals and medical colleges will have to procure the vaccine from the manufacturers to give vaccine dose to the beneficiaries above 45 years and also those between 18 and 45 years,” said director general, family welfare, Dr Rakesh Dubey.

The state government had collected the stock of the vaccine from the private hospitals and medical colleges on April 30. The decision has been taken on the direction of the central government. The vaccination drive is being organised daily at the government hospitals and medical colleges across the state.

Daily vaccination drive is being organised at 5,000 to 6,000 vaccination centres depending on the availability of the vaccine. The state government has 1.50 lakh vaccine doses for people between 18 and 44 years and 13 lakh doses for the beneficiaries above 45 years.
