Expert Covid panel named, PGI chief leads it
LUCKNOW: The UP government formed a 14member advisory panel of medical experts regarding Covid control and management, to advise Team9 of chief minister Yogi Adityanath, on Tuesday. RK Dhiman, director, SGPGIMS, is the chairperson of the panel. On Sunday, the chief minister had ordered that a panel of medical experts be formed to advise Team-9 to fight the intense second wave of Covid19 . Team-9, the restructured form of the previous Team-11, , did not have any dedicated team of medical experts to advise it. According to the order issued on Tuesday by Alok Kumar, principal secretary, medical education, the other 13 members of the panel are: King George’s Medical University vice-chancellor Lt Gen Vipin Puri (retd), Atal Behari Vajpayee Medical University vice-chancellor AK Singh; Director of Dr RMLIMS, Medanta Hospital’s Rakesh Kapoor, PGI pulmonary medicine principal Ved Prakash, SGPGIMS’ Alok Nath, Midland Hospital’s BP Singh, State president of IMA, state surveillance officer of medical and health department, director-general of medical education (all based in Lucknow), and SSPH, Greater Noida’s Rakesh Gupta, and director of Indian Medical Sciences, BHU , Varanasi.
