Mapping curbs across states

Amid surge in coronavirus cases across the country, several states have clamped down restrictions to curb the spread of the disease. A low-down:

PUNJAB

Night curfew from 6pm to 5am . Only essential item shops allowed to open till 6pm. Restrictions to remain till May 15 for the time being.

HARYANA

Lockdown implemented in the state till May 10

MADHYA PRADESH

People are allowed to go out only in case of an emergency. In most affected villages, work under MNREGA put on hold till May 15.

MAHARASHTRA

The state govt has extended the existing lockdown-like restrictions till May 15 to curb Covid-19 infections in the state

KARNATAKA

Only shops/establishment selling essentials allowed. No travel without valid reason.

GOA

Govt offices at 50% capacity, private offices asked to work from home, no restrictions on essentials, public buses shut.

KERALA

Lockdown implemented for a week. Those who venture out for urgent service need to carry proof of engagement.

J&K

Curfew in Srinagar, Jammu, Baramulla, Budgam and Samba districts till 7am, May 10. Weekend lockdown from 7 pm Friday to 7am Monday in all 20 districts to continue.

DELHI

Curfew/partial lockdown till Monday

CHHATTISGARH

Lockdown in most of the districts of the state has been extended till May 15.

ODISHA

Lockdown in the entire state between May 5 and May 19

HIMACHAL PRADESH

Curfew in Himachal from May 7 to May 17, 6am. Educational Insitutions closed till May 31. Transport with 50% capacity.

UTTARAKHAND

Curfew in three districts of Dehradun, Haridwar and US Nagar from May 6 to May 10.

BIHAR

Complete lockdown. Essential services allowed. Vegetable, milk shops allowed to open from 7am till 11am

WEST BENGAL

Local trains shut, metro, buses running with 50% caacity, market and shop timing restricted, RT-PCR test must for entry into state. Ban on social gatherings

JHARKHAND

Essential services open only from 7am to 2pm. The restrictions as of now are in place till 6am on May 13.

ARUNACHAL PRADESH

No lockdown. Night curfew in Itanagar from 9pm to 5pm

ASSAM

Shops, offices, business establishments to close at 2pm. Curfew from 6pm to 5am.

NAGALAND

Partial lockdown-like restrictions to continue till May 13. Kohima and Dimapur declared as containment zones.

MANIPUR

Night curfew across state from 7pm to 5am. Greater Imphal and Churachandpur district declared containment zones

MIZORAM

Lockdown imposed in Aizawl and all other district headquarters till May 11. No restrictions in other places

TRIPURA

Curfew imposed in all municipal councils and Nagar panchayats including Agartala Municipal Corporation from 6pm to 5am

MEGHALAYA

Lockdown in East Khasi Hills district till May 10. Weekend lockdown in other districts
