Kritika Kamra was shooting for her upcoming web series, Hush Hush, prior to the imposition of the lockdown. But she says shooting amid the ongoing pandemic was not very difficult as she had adapted to the new normal until the second wave hit the country. “Things weren’t as bad when we were shooting in Delhi and we strictly followed safety protocols. I have shot for three projects since last year. These are not desirable conditions to shoot in but the show had to go on,” she shares.

With the situation worsened now, Kamra confides that the previous year prepared her for the second lockdown. The Tandav actor elaborates, “We’ve been in a lockdown before and so, one knows what to do in these uncertain times. I’m sticking to basics and staying home and masking up if I need to step out. I’m also constantly checking on people around me.” She adds, “It is heart breaking to see the pain and panic all around. I’m trying my best to help those who need resources and information.”

So, what has she been doing to keep the health hazard at bay now that the second wave has proved to be more dangerous? “All that matters right now is to stay healthy. I’m taking one day at a time. I’m not very disciplined but having a routine helps me. I try to stick to my workout, cook dinner, read a few pages and talk to family. It gives me a semblance of order,” Kamra says.

She explains that while it is natural for some kind of exhaustion to set in during these times, she emphasises on the need to keep going. “The lockdown fatigue is real and understandable but it’s also the least of our problems. I look around and feel grateful for this privilege of being able to stay home and see my loved ones safe. And that’s getting me through,” she concludes.

I’m sticking to basics - staying home, masking up if I’ve to step out. I’m also checking on people around me.
