‘GIVE ₹50L EACH TO KIN OF SCHOOL STAFF WHO DIED ON POLL DUTY’

LUCKNOW : Claiming that more than 800 government school staff, who were on duty during the recently concluded panchayat polls, had died due to Covid in the state by now, Uttar Pradeshiya Prathmik Shikshak Sangh chief Dinesh Chandra Sharma on Friday demanded Rs 50 lakh financial assistance each to the next kin of the deceased at the earliest.

In a press release, Sharma said the government should immediatel­y offer job of assistant teacher to kin of those who died during election duty.

“Any family member of these teachers having done B Ed or BTC should be exempted from teachers’ eligibilit­y test and can be appointed directly as assistant teacher,” he demanded.“If a family member is not eligible to become a teacher and has a simple graduation degree, they should be given the job of clerk. All those teachers who died during panchayat elections should be given pension before April 1, 2005 rules,” he further demanded0

.“All teachers who were nearing 60 years of age should be given gratuity as per government rules. All teachers who were engaged in panchayat polls should be declared corona warriors,,” Sharma said.
