EXCISE, CANE DEPTS TO HELP INSTALL OXYGEN GENERATORS

The excise, sugar industries and sugarcane development departments of the state are all set to start installing oxygen generators in hospitals across the state for Covid-19 patients, according to a state government statement issued here on Friday. A letter had been written to Air India to airlift these machines and deliver them to the hospitals as soon as possible. For this, hospitals in 75 districts had been selected and the remaining ones were being prepared, it said. Officials had also started installing oxygen generators in 27 districts. About 30 units of the excise department and 45 sugar mills will ensure that in every district, there is at least one CHC or hospital with 35-45 beds having fulltime supply through oxygen generators, said statement.
